The two photos below are among my favorite photos from this year's Florida trip. This was a windy, relatively cold sunrise with very few people on this section of beach. I had found the old pilings when walking the beach on a warm, calm afternoon a few days earlier and decided to come back with my camera when conditions were better for photography. The clouds, waves, surf action and eroded pilings all gave a heightened sense of nature's power. There were also several roses laying on the beach nearby that had obviously been dropped the night before. The partially sand-covered rose laying on the beach created opportunity for a unique abstract image.
